Whitney M. Schaefer is a Consultant with The Sargent Consulting Group, LLC. Whitney graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL with a Master of Accountancy in Taxation. She received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Evansville.

Whitney’s experience includes internships as a tax extern for a boutique consulting group and for a school corporation where she audited finances of elementary schools and processed accounts payables. While in her graduate studies, Whitney held the position of Graduate Assistant of  Marketing in the Dean’s Office where she helped coordinate the Dean’s External Advisory Board and managed public relations activities for the University.

At SIUC, Whitney was a member of Beta Alpha Psi (an international honorary organization for students majoring in Accounting, Finance or MIS). She served as an officer of VITA (the Internal Revenue Service's Voluntary Income Tax Assistance) program staffed by student volunteers from accounting and business programs at SIUC to assist taxpayers from low income families, military families, and the elderly throughout the country with their federal and state income tax returns. Additionally, Whitney served as Vice President of Phi Mu Fraternity for Women, was a member of the Accounting Club and Mortar Board and acted as a Sorority Recruitment Counselor. 

Whitney now shares her experience as a forensic accounting by guest lecturing at universities including The University of Saint Francis and her alma mater, Southern Illinois University.

She enjoys spending time with friends and family and staying active though sports and exercise. She also aspires to improve her culinary skills and golf game and to travel more.
